Learning to Learn
What is Learning to Learn?
- The aim of the Learning to Learn course is to help students to become better learners, not just in school but in real life too.
- The course is designed to help students develop skills and attitudes to learn well, under whatever conditions they face.
- Students at Kingsmead have Learning to Learn for two hours a week in year 7.
Why should students learn how to learn?
- 80% of children in their first year of primary school will enter careers that don’t exist now, involving technology that hasn’t yet been invented
- The amount of information in the world is doubling every 2.5 years
- Today engineers find that half their knowledge is obsolete within 5 years
- Employees will change professions, not just jobs, 4 or 5 times during their working lifetime
