Katharine House Hospice provides a range of services offering help, care and support for people with advanced life-limiting conditions across mid-Staffordshire. These conditions include Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, End Stage Renal failure and Cancer. All services are free of charge.

Stafford Hospice at Home began in 1989 and Katharine House Hospice day care unit opened in May 1993, the inpatient unit welcomed it’s first patient in September 2000, a Thursday Drop in Day commenced in July 2001 and a Carers Group in 2004.

Katharine House Hospice has grown hugely since it opened in 1993 and now offers a 15 place day unit, 10 bedded in-patient unit and many additional services including a Carers Group and Lymphoedema Clinic.

All of our services are provided free of charge and we rely heavily on donations to be able to do this.

The Hospice is situated in the grounds of Stafford General Hospital but is independent from the hospital and relies heavily on donations for the £2.5 million needed to run the hospice each year.

Pupils from Valley House recently visited Katharine House Hospice shop in Hednesford as part of a mission to acquire outfits for Head of House Mr Adams and Deputy Headteacher, Mr Allman. Click here to see the results!
