Key Stage 3 (Programme Of Study)
The Personal and Social Development course for Year 7 is part of the preparation of the pupils for personal, social and family responsibilities. It helps individuals to explore and understand their own feelings, attitudes and values and to consider and respect those of others. The course also aims to develop the pupils' basic knowledge in topics such as personal health, puberty, crime and morality. Homework will be set when appropriate.
The Personal and Social Development course for Year 8 encourages pupils to examine their rights and responsibilities in society and to help prepare them to be good citizens. The units which will be studied are ‘Smoking’, ‘Alcohol’ and ‘Solvent Abuse’.
